the story behind the blog
After living with chronic health issues for many years, I began to learn how to heal my body naturally through nutrition and lifestyle changes…
My love for cooking began when I was just a little girl. I was obsessed with watching the Food Network and found joy in trying new things out in the kitchen. However, when I was young, I began to struggle with chronic digestive issues that persisted for over 15 years of my life. In my early twenties, my health was a daily struggle. My relationship to food became tumultuous when I struggled to understand what foods were causing my symptoms to flare up. As a necessity to heal from my chronic digestive issues, I cut out ultra-processed foods and began to focus on a whole food, nutrient dense diet, free from dairy, gluten, and refined sugars. Since eating this way for many years, I have been able to put my health issues in remission. I learned how to eat and cook in a way that was fitting to my new lifestyle. Now that I have been eating this way for many years, I want to share the recipes that I’ve adapted, and share with others that they can eat clean without feeling like they’re missing out on their favorite comfort foods.
